This barn wood sign was the inspiration for my Valentine’s Mantle. Start with a focal point and go from there!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I scored this “Something tells me I am going to love him forever sign” at Goodwill for $14.99, and it was the inspiration for my Valentines Day Mantle. I loved the barn wood frame and script print. I thought it had the modern farmhouse vibe I’m looking for, and would look great above my mantle decorated for Valentine’s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is the price tag on the back. The barn wood frame alone was worth the price. When I purchased it, I thought if I ever wanted to use it for a different season, the script could easily be painted over to adapt to another holiday like Christmas with a rustic painting of evergreens, or barn adorned with wreaths. For now, it worked perfect for this space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changing the seasons is so exhausting but rewarding when finished.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s daunting to change out the seasons, but once I get started I enjoy the process. Here, I was unscrewing the plate so it doesn’t scratch my wall. Also, to lower the hanger. I don’t want to have to put a new nail hole in the wall. I blame my OCD! I try to use existing nails to avoid more nail holes. This barn wood was heavy duty, so I placed a larger nail in the original nail hole. The frame had hangers on every corner so I added tape over them so the metal didn’t scratch my paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look at that pop of color against that neutral background. Love. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I love love love how it turned out over the mantle! I found these red candles at HomeGoods and it helped make the mantle pop with color. I bought the red and white garland strand at Hobby Lobby this year, and the hearts and white garland were leftover from last season. The iron metal candle holder on the hearth came from a local antique store. I ordered the red battery operated tea light candles from Amazon. They came in a pack of 25 and already had the batteries included. I can use the them again on Fourth of July and next Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These wicker lanterns and Pampas grass worked so good for height in this space.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I got the this XOXO sign at The Dollar Tree for $5.00!! It was so cute and reasonable, I bought two. I put the other one in my breakfast nook. The metal heart tree topper came from Hobby Lobby on sale for $9.99. I love how all the red tones complimented each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Valentine's
I love the pink contrast of the Pampass Grass against the pops of red.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I wanted something with some height on either side of my fireplace so I found these wicker lantern baskets and Pampas grass from HomeGoods. I filled the jar on the inside with red, pink, and cream battery operated pompom lights from Amazon. It is originally a garland, but I used it for color, and a pop of light in the jar where you would typically place a candle. These Pampas Grass stalks are cream with pink on the tips so were perfect for this Valentine’s Day theme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colors all complimented each other so well although purchased separately. I love it when a plan comes together!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I tried to keep my tree simple. I left red, white, and silver ornaments from Christmas, and ice skates since it is still winter and cold here in Tennessee. I added some metal love heart ornaments, and some glitter hearts sticks. The pom pom glitter stalks and silver at the top are added for filler and are from Hobby Lobby. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love the glow from this tea light ornament! <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our town has a year round Christmas shop called Gabriel’s. I found these heart and ribbon tea light ornaments there. They have rose petals on the inside and are hung by twine. I snagged four because they were only $6.99 and were so cute! I love the glow they added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handmade and sentimental ornaments are always a classic and timeless.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This handmade pottery heart ornament also came from Gabriels. The silver white and red compliement each other and was so easy to transition from Christmas to Valentine’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transitional ornaments are time and space savers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This “If a snowflake were a kiss, I’d send you a blizzard” sign goes perfect for Christmas and Valentine’s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wedding gift is the gift that keeps on giving every Christmas and Valentine’s.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This gold and red heart ornament was a wedding gift to me and Josh 23 years ago. I still have the original box. I can’t believe it has survived all these years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flip some decor around to play and see what looks best is key!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I move things around a lot until I get it how I want it. Here is a view with the XOXO sign and the vintage flower candleabra flipped. I love how it all turned out. Simple, yet with some pops of red and pink for color. It’s givin me that lovin feelin! How about you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
